Artist Spotlight
Artist Spotlight is a Warewolf Reviews series where once a week an Artist, Musician or Band gets highlighted as I feel they don’t get the attention they deserve.

Ethan Field might’ve shown up on your feed cracking jokes about music, but don’t let the punchlines fool you—he’s the real deal. There’s real emotion, real craft, and zero shortcuts. He’s got that rare combo of sharp production instincts and actual heart behind it all. You might show up for the laughs, but the music’s what keeps you around.

Carter Vail showed up on my For You Page doing comedy bits with music—and like a fool, I assumed that was the whole story. It wasn’t. Deep-diving into his discography might be the best music decision I’ve made all year. The guy’s got range, a killer ear for melody, and a catalog full of songs that lodge themselves in your brain and refuse to leave.
His debut album Red Eyes is a standout, and the Interstellar Tennis Championship EPs (Volumes 1 and 2) are just as fun and unpredictable as the name suggests. Carter jumps between sounds with ease—indie pop, alt-rock, synth-driven detours—and somehow makes it all feel cohesive. Every track feels like a new side of the same wild creative brain.

Stolen Gin is a wildly talented group of guys who met at NYU and have been filling dance floors ever since. Their sound lives at the intersection of pop, jazz, funk, alt, and rock—but somehow it never feels overstuffed. Just tight grooves, catchy hooks, and the kind of energy that makes you want to see it live immediately.
They’ve got two full-length albums—Something Sweet and No Tonic—plus a string of singles that show off their range and rhythm. Up top, you’ll find a few of my highlight tracks, including “Drunk Ambition,” which ended up being my most played song of 2023. No regrets.

Friday Pilots Club are a Chicago-based rock band that carve out their own lane—dark, melodic, and hook-heavy in all the right ways. If modern rock had its own Alice In Chains moment, these guys might be it. Not because they sound the same, but because they get it: how to balance grit with clarity, and how to write a chorus that sticks.
They just dropped their debut full-length, Nowhere, and it absolutely delivers. Before that, they built a solid catalog across four EPs (Nothing or Forever, I LOVE YOU ROBOT, SUPERSTAR!, Friday Pilots Club, and While You Wait), plus a bunch of standalone singles and a sharp Audiotree Live session. Every release brings something different to the table, but the throughline is always strong songwriting and serious presence.

Pacifica is a duo from Argentina—Inés and Martina—and they’ve quickly landed in my top tier of bands. Their harmonies are unreal, their melodies are addictive, and their instincts are way beyond their years.
They’ve released a short cover album and a debut full-length of original material, both showcasing just how locked-in their musical chemistry is. I first came across Martina in early 2023 via an Instagram reel—she was playing the bassline to Paul McCartney’s “Silly Love Songs” with so much feel and reverence that I immediately took notice. A few clicks later, I found Pacifica, and yeah… it was all over from there. Consider this your official heads-up: they’re ones to watch.
